The Chicago Campus

Our beautiful Chicago campus is located at 17 N. Dearborn in the hub of Chicago’s central business district, the new campus space provides a uniquely forward-thinking graduate learning environment that:

  • Fosters immersion in learning, community and collaboration. Academic spaces are connected by multi-floor open atriums that serve as hubs to a mix of social, study, community learning and work spaces. The space also features a Wellness Studio, a Café, the Library, Adler Community Services, the Institutes for Social Change and Adler Community Hall—a multimedia-enabled presentation hall with full audio/video support capabilities and capacity for more than 150 people.
  • More than doubles the University’s classroom and computing capacity, and more than doubles the dedicated library space of its former campus—providing students with access to a robust system of academic resources and technology-equipped learning areas that support individual, collaborative, and small group study.
  • Enhances The Adler University’s ability to provide individual and classroom research assistance, in addition to online library resource instruction, with a teaching laboratory equipped with computer stations that accommodate online, hands-on group instruction.
  • Incorporates state-of-the-art wireless and classroom technology, including Mediascape collaborative work areas. Classrooms incorporate a variety of interactive media resources including built-in AV credenzas with computing and wireless access to display screens, in-ceiling integrated projection units and SMART Board interactive whiteboards.
  • Achieves the standards for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification, an internationally recognized green building certification that represents the highest standards in indoor environmental quality and resource stewardship.

With the development of the new Chicago campus, the Adler University Technology Department maintains technology infrastructure, technical support and online learning resources at both the University’s Chicago and Vancouver campuses that include:

  • An integrated telecommunications system incorporating voice-over-IP technology, which streamlines communications systems and data network systems management and reduces administrative overhead.
  • Campus wireless network systems that provide secure, high-speed wireless connectivity support to staff, faculty, and students.
  • A classroom/event scheduling system that centralizes management of class scheduling, classroom utilization and school-related information that is communicated electronically to electronic schedule boards as well as individual room display units.
  • Advanced classroom technology that features flexible delivery of multimedia course content in 24 classrooms across the Chicago campus.  Fifteen of these classrooms incorporate new Smartboard technology—allowing for touch-based, interactive content delivery and collaboration for faculty and students.
  • Mediascape collaborative sharing centers that provide a collaborative sharing experience for up to four laptop-equipped users per station.
