Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find commonly asked questions from prospective students about our online degree programs. If you need additional information, please contact an Admissions Counselor at 312.662.4058 or onlineadmissions@adler.edu.

Q: Do I need a specific type of degree or background to apply?
A. No. We encourage candidates from diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds to apply. However, each program does have specific requirements.

Q: I’m working full time. Do I need to take time off to complete this degree program?
A: No. All of our online programs are designed for working professionals and can be completed entirely online, making them attractive options for students who may work full time.

Q: I am not very tech savvy. Should I still consider online education?
A: Yes. Our online classroom is a very user-friendly space. Many of our students have reported that they became comfortable with our online learning environment within a couple of weeks.

Q: I have a very full schedule and work full time. How many hours will I need to study to excel in these online programs?
A: Our online programs are designed for working professionals, so there is never a preset time you have to be in class. Your online classroom is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and, therefore, you can work around your schedule. Students tell us their average time spent working in a course can vary each week, depending on program, course load, content, time of year, and other responsibilities. Regular coursework and tasks, however, include reading assignments, participating in online discussion boards, and completing specific assignments.

Q. How long will it take to complete my degree online?
A: Our master’s programs require 36 - 37 credit hours to complete. Each course is eight weeks in length, and with regularly scheduled breaks, the programs can be completed in about two years. Our 75 credit hour Ph.D. program can be completed in about four years.

Q: When do classes start?
A: Class starts vary by program. Please contact an Admissions Counselor for more information about your specific program of interest.

Q: What are the application deadlines?
A: Adler University employs a rolling admission process, so we accept applications throughout the year. Because most programs fill quickly, we encourage you to begin the process early.
